Dear readers,

You couldn’t possibly imagine how happy I am right now to be bringing you the first ever issue of Gallop. Gallop is a brand new magazine dedicated to Ponybox, and, more specifically, the Nokota server. I absolutely love writing, Ponybox, and flipping through magazines so I thought about what a great thing it would be if I could combine all three of them into one thing. Viola! -- Gallop Magazine was born. Right now it’s just getting started, but I hope within a couple weeks it will be a big success.

Until then,
Zera

What are the World Equestrian Games (WEG) you ask? Well, the WEG have Dressage, Driving, Endurance, Eventing, Jumping, Para Dressage, Reining, and Vaulting. Dressage, French for training, is all about a horse and rider completing a routine as one. Some people describe it as "dancing horses". Driving is when horses are hooked up to carts and do courses. The driving held at the WEG consists of four horses and one cart completing courses. Endurance is a competition that shows the speed and endurance ability of the horse and rider. The horses travel 100 miles in this competition, and there are at least 5 stops so that vets can check on the horses and make sure they are okay to continue the competition. Eventing is an all around test of the riders and horses. In eventing, you ride in dressage, stadium jumping, and cross country. Each event is done on a separate day. Jumping is a rider and horse doing a course of obstacles (jumps). Para Dressage is for riders who have physical disabilities. This is so they have a chance to compete in a high performance equestrian sport. Reining is the only main western event in the WEG. It is designed to show the ability of the horse. Vaulting is a gymnastic dance on a horse. It shows the physical ability of the vaulters. For more information, visit THIS site.

A v a r i c e is a Mustang stallion owned by The Black Kiwi. He was cloned from Remember the Name, a foal reservation from Kannassarago Ranch by LED ZEPPELIN out of a “gorgeous mare; Destination Truth.” Kiwi (as she is known on Nokota) decided to keep A v a r i c e as the GHS she used would have fetched upwards of 900k and she wanted to get her money's worth out of the horse. She never thought he would be great as he refused to run out of the 14s until he reached the peak of the earnings board, only then did he improve. Kiwi generally starts roundups at five and only five, however with this boy she wanted to get a move on so she started him the day she cloned him. Kiwi says: “Bad days don't mean a thing.”

Since this is the first issue we’re only having a small contest, nothing too major or challenging. With that being said, I’d like to introduce the contest…
The contest will be to write a short poem about anything you’d like, preferably having to do with horses or Nokota in some way. You must send your entry to this account, Gallop Magazine, and make sure that the title is named something like “Issue 1 Poem Entry” so it doesn’t get lost with the other mail. The winner of the contest (chosen by a panel of judges, not just me, Zera) will receive a Stall Name Plate and their poem featured in the next magazine! The deadline for entries to be in is Saturday, September 18, 2010. What are you waiting for? Get those entries in!

Nokota, Ponybox.com.
We're the server that just makes everyone a part of one small family. But some things have been happening for a while now…
Outtie and Blackie. The versus contests. Austalia versus New Zealand.

I have asked the two players some questions…

Conversation with Outtie:
INSANIA INT: When did you start doing the versus?
OUTTIE: Ah... When did we start? At the start of this year I believe.. or maybe around April - May…not sure.

INSANIA INT: Oh okay, cool. Next question. What gave you the idea of doing this?
OUTTIE: She’s a New Zealander…I'm crazy if I DIDN’T challenge her.

INSANIA INT: LOL. Okay then. Next question, Which country do you think is better, New Zealand, Or Australia? :P
OUTTIE: Do you really need an answer for that?

INSANIA INT: Haha. Thanks for your time. Bye.

Conversations with Blackie:
INSANIA INT: How did you meet Outtie?
BLACKIE: I have no idea. I just sort of woke up one day and I had this quirky friendship with an amazing person. I don't regret one minute of it.

INSANIA INT: Haha okay. What’s the most embarrasing/awkwardest thing that has happened in the versus?
BLACKIE: Ahhhh, it's all pretty embarrassing, but that's the good thing. I'm really introverted in RL, and this makes me come out a little bit and show how random I can be with my friends.

INSANIA INT: Okay. That’s all for now, bye.

So yes, fellow Nokotians - this is it for now xD
